The oil is finally making landfall on the beaches of Mississippi. We were able to go so long without impact due to our barrier islands, which have been devastated. I am at school 60 miles from home, but I keep up with the reports. There are already oiled animals being discovered and tar balls. I am absolutely terrified to go home. My heart breaks any time I think about it. It is the only reason to be glad of being bogged down so heavily with school work this summer. This weekend is a holiday. I am not sure where I am going yet. I have been invited to Gulf Shores, which would offer some beautiful scenery...even with the oil. *sigh* I mainly just want to spend my weekend taking pictures and maybe some fun reading.
